getting started with the iPad – what to order

Having many discussions about getting started with iPads at work.  Have narrowed down a list of items apps to make a good working starter kit.

The FCC Mobile Broadband Test app for iPhone was developed by OOKLA and offers the same functionality of the Speedtest.net app with one difference.  Test results can be uploaded into an FCC database.  The nationwide results can be displayed analyzed or displayed on a map here:

Air travelers can use the “MY TSA” app to view FAA information on flight delays as well as check up on the latest airport rules for luggage or carry-on items.

Many of the listed apps have been developed as “web apps” which do not require a download/install process.  They are merely web sites which have been formatted to display appropriately on the smaller screens of mobile devices.
